Friday was Payal's big day! I blogged about her a while back. She went for a totally different look than we discussed at her trial. She looked like a princess! Congrats Payal!

Revlon: Peek Ah Collar!

I scooped up 6 new nail polishes this week at CVS. Each under $1 buck. Buy 1 for $3.99 and get $3 ECB (CVS Extra Care Bucks) back. I bought 6 and got $18.00 ECB's back and I used 2 $3 off your $10 cosmetic purchase. I will let you do the math. I decided to try out "Mistletoe" first. More to come! Today's my Friday...sort of.

Fancy Nails on the Quick!

I had been eyeing these stick on nail polish for weeks. I saw them in magazines, online and in the store. I was hesitant at first but decided to give them a try after I saw this blinged out version. They were super easy to put on and only took about 10 minutes. Something like this would of cost be $50 bucks in the salon. I got these for $7.99 at my local Walgreens.

Brand: Kiss Nail Dress

I also love the Kiss brand press on nails. I prefer those than getting acrylic/shellac nails. They last all weekend and don't damage your nails.

Skincare: At Home Facial

I am huge on skincare! You must wash, tone and moisurize your face 2 times a day! I may skip the tone part on some days but the other 2...Never! This is my at home facial routine. I like to do this 2 -3 times a month but it always only happens when I have an event to attend.

Step 1: Cleanse your face

Step 2: Biore Nose strip. Follow the instructions. This hurts like a mutha when you remove it but its soooooo worth it. I didn't take a picture because that's just gross. You will know what I mean when you do it.

Step 3: Spread "Clear Improvement" by Orgins all over face

{yes that's a blemish - no ones perfect!}
Step 4: Once the mask is completely dry (you can't open your mouth because its so stiff) rinse with hot cloth. I put my washcloth in the sink and let hot hot water run. I squeeze out all the hot water and let the towel soak on my face. Rinse and repeat to remove all the mask.

Step 5: Apply "Drink Up - Intensive" by Orgins all over face, Slap on a very thick layer. You can rinse it in 30 minutes or keep it on overnight. I keep it on overnight if I do this right before bed. I wake up with extremely moisturized skin with a soft glow.

I also do an egg white mask I plan to share with you too!
Happy weekend everyone!

A Not So Boring: Salad + Dessert

I combined leftovers from my lunch: grilled chicken breast and grilled asparagus to make this delicious and satisfying salad.

{Spinach, grilled chicken, asparagus, 1/2 apple, quinoa and feta cheese}

{No meal is complete without dessert..the other half of the
apple and chopped mango with 0% fage yogurt}
Happy Hump Day.......what are you eating for dinner tonight?

DIY: Lipgloss

We all have a stash of makeup that we never use but never want to get rid of because one day we just might need it. I love that there are no rules in makeup or art for that matter. You can wear lipstick on your lids and checks and you can wear blush on your lids. Whatever you want! Here I combined Vaseline (the best moisturizer for your lips or any body part) with eye shadows, pigments and mac lip mix.

What you will need: Vaseline, Q-tips, sharp edge, clear containers and eye shadows.

All snaps taken by me on a Cannon EOS Rebel T3i (c) ArtistaLovesArt

{I tried the gloss on my bridal client and she loved it! I filled her lips in with "Spice"
lipliner by MAC, then applied the gloss over it}
No rules in makeup: Mix, blend and add anyting! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Ring Ring

FRIEND: The husband took both the kids to the in laws for dinner..what are you doing tonight? ME: Meeting you for dinner and drinks in 15 minutes! It's not very often that Shilps calls me and tells me she is free. She's a busy girl! In between her high power job, her 2 kids, soccer games, swim lessons, husband, home and huge family - if she has time to squeeze little ol me in.. I'm all for it! I got the call on my way home from the set of the shoot (City of Houston) so the timing was just right!
{You know I had to take a snap!}

{Veggie Pizza: not too impressed - but we were there for the drinks & patio}

{Brick House Tavern: Left: The "Zombie" (limit 2)}

On the Set: Take one!

I spent 2 days on set for an industrial video for The City of Houston. I played Zoe: a terrified, confused and frightened city worker trying to escape from the shooter that had taken over the office building. (sounds dramatic - it was! in a very silly way) I worked with 2 talented actors: Anthony and Crystal (real names) they are full time actors in Houston. (so jealous) We had a blast on set (I love actors) and Crystal managed to get some shots of me in between takes.

{Crystal getting her tattoo airbrushed: City workers don't have tattoo's!!!}

Happy Tuesday!

DIY Makeup Organization

The Kardashians started the acrylic makeup organizer craze.
You can buy their version for $300.00 plus or you can try my version out below.

I bought 3 - 3 drawer boxes from The Container Store at $12.99 each and 1 - 5 drawer acrylic case from Muji online at $27.95. I love that I can see all my makeup but it's still organized and neat.

I have plenty of counter space in my master bathroom but if you are tight on space you can create your own makeup vanity like my sister Anita did: Mirror and chest of drawers from Pier One Imports.

Formal Living

Sneak peek of my formal living room. This room has been 4 years in the making. I finally found a sofa and decided on a color palette.

DIY Frame

This weekend I tackled several DIY home projects. I spray painted 2 of these old frames a glossy black color. Do you have something that needs a new color? Spray painting is super fast and easy! Stay tuned for some snaps of my other DIY projects this week!

Healthy Hair

If you shop at CVS you probably have noticed Salma Hayek's new line: Nuance. It was time for a new shampoo/conditioner so I decided to give her a try. The shampoo smells great and left my hair feeling very clean and light without leaving any greasy buildup like most cheaper shampoos. What was even sweeter was I got $10 in ECB (extra care bucks) back for spending $20 on the line. $10 bucks for Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum = Like getting it for free! TGIalmostF!!
